(a) whether the Union Government has received any proposal from Daman & Diu Administration for conservation of Damanganga river under National River Conservation Plan (NRCP) to ambit pollution from this river in coordination with State Government of Gujarat and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) the time by which the Union Government in coordination with State Government of Gujarat intends to complete this project?

(a) & (b) Project proposals are received from the State Governments from time to time for taking up pollution abatement works in towns along various rivers, and are considered for financial assistance under the National River Conservation Plan (NRCP) subject to their conformity with the scheme guidelines, pollution status, prioritization, appraisal by independent institutions and availability of Plan funds. With regard to pollution abatement of river Damanganga, proposal has not been received either from Governments of Daman & Diu or Gujarat.
