WORLD HERITAGE STATUS TO SWARNGIRI FORT

+66. SHRI DEVJI M. PATEL:

Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government proposes to declare historical forts, naming of Swarngiri Fort at Jalore, artery situated at Lohianagarh Koat Kasta Fort (Sanskrit Pathshala) Pataleshwar Shiv Mandir as world heritage site;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether renovation of one thousand and two hundred years old Pataleshwar Shiv Mandir is not being done due to administrative apathy;
(d) if so, the reasons therefor;
(e) whether the Government has formulated any scheme for the renovation of such old temples and forts; and
(f) if so, the details thereof?

(a & (b): No, Madam. There is no proposal under consideration in Archaeological Survey of India for naming of historic forts of Swarngiri Fort at Jalore, artery situated at Lohianagarh Koat Kasta Fort (Sanskrit Pathshala) Pateleshwar Shiv Mandir for world heritage site.

(c) &(d): All monuments and sites under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India are in a good state of conservation and there is no apathy on part of the Government. However, for monuments in question, information is being collected from field offices.

(e): No, Madam.

(f): Does not arise.
