(a) whether a Rajdhani Express train is likely to be announced between New Delhi and Barauni via Gorakhpur;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether the Government proposes to start trains such as Jan Shatabdi Express on New Delhi-Lucknow-Gorakhpur route; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): At present, there is no proposal to introduce a new Rajdhani Express between New Delhi and Barauni as Rajdhani Express class of trains are long distance fast moving prestigious trains with limited halts enroute, primarily meant for connecting National capital and State capitals. Moreover, Barauni Jn. is presently being served by 3 pairs of Rajdhani Express trains viz. 12423/12424 New Delhi-Dibrugarh Town Rajdhani Express (Daily), 12435/12436 New Delhi-Dibrugarh Town Rajdhani Express (Bi-weekly) and 20501/20502 Agartala-Anand Vihar(T) Rajdhani Express (Weekly).
(c) & (d): Presently, there is no proposal of starting a new Jan Shatabdi Express on New Delhi-Lucknow-Gorakhpur route due to operational and resource constraints including path constraints enroute. Moreover, New Delhi is presently well connected to Gorakhpur.
