(a) to (c): Government of India has been implementing various employment generation programmes such as
Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana(SJSRY), Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS) in rural and urban areas of the
country. However, Government is implementing Swaranjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) which is primarily
designed to promote self-employment oriented income generating activities for the BPL households in the
rural areas.
