(a) whether the Government has received any proposal seeking financial assistance for renovation of traditional water bodies such as tanks and old wells in the State of Karnataka;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has considered it necessary in view of the frequent incidents of drought conditions in the State of Karnataka; and
(d) if so, the details of the response of the Government in this regard?

(a) to (d) Works related to water resources development and management are planned, funded, executed and maintained by the State Governments themselves as per their own resources and priorities. In order to supplement the efforts of the State Governments, Government of India provides technical and financial assistance to State Governments to encourage sustainable development and efficient management of water resources through various schemes and programmes.
Central Water Commission has informed that the Government of Karnataka has not submitted any proposal for release of Central Assistance under the Repair, Renovation and Restoration (RRR) of Water Bodies Scheme under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) during the current financial year so far.
