(a) whether the Government is aware of the facts that the various terrorist groups active in the country are receiving funds from foreign countries;
(b) if so, the number of such cases came to the notice of the Government during each of the last three years, till date; and
(c) the steps taken/proposed to be taken to prevent such activities?

(a) & (b): Available reports indicate that some of the terrorist organizations operating in some parts of the country are receiving financial assistance from foreign countries. As per available information, during the preceding three years, 37 such cases (15 in 2003, 15 in 2004 and 7 in 2005) have come to notice.
(c): Suitable legal and institutional mechanisms are in place to prevent such activities and deal with such cases.
