Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES AND AGRO AND RURAL INDUSTRIES (SMT. VASUNDHARA RAJE)

(a): Under the Prime Minister`s Rozgar Yojana (PMRY), the Central Government releases the funds for Subsidy as well as for Training and Entrepreneurial development, etc. The funds for subsidy are, however, authorised to the Reserve Bank of India for passing on to the individual beneficiary through the implementing banks and are not released to the States. Funds for Training and Entrepreneurial development, etc. are released directly to the States, and a statement showing State-wise amount released for Training and Entrepreneurial Development, etc, under the PMRY, during the last three years i.e. 1997-98, 1998-99 and 1999-2000 is at Annexure-I. These funds are released in turn by the State Governments to the Districts at their own level.

(b): No irregularity has been reported by the State Government of Bihar.

(c): No, Sir; educated unemployed persons are getting benefits from the scheme.

(d): As reported by the State Government, the number of applications pending in Patna and Jahanbad districts were 3850 and 237, respectively, as on 31.3.2000.

(e): The Government of Bihar has informed that steps are being taken to dispose of the pending applications of both these districts in the current financial year.
