Question : Child Nutrition Mission

(a) whether the Government has launched the Child Nutrition Mission (CNM) in the State of Jharkhand;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the funds allocated/ released there under;

(c) whether the Government has reviewed the success of the mission in the State; and

(d) if so, the details and the outcome thereof indicating the shortcomings noticed in its implementation along with the corrective measures taken in this regard?

(a ) to (d) Recently, the Government of India has approved the setting up of National Nutrition Mission (NNM) at a total cost of Rs. 9046.17 crore for improving the nutritional indicators of children and pregnant women and lactating mothers. The NNM is to roll out in a phased manner i.e. 315 districts in 2017-18, 235 districts in 2018-19 and the remaining districts in 2019-20. Out of 315 districts covered in 2017-18, there are 18 districts from the State of Jharkhand. No funds have yet been released.

NNM has robust mechanism for periodic review.
