Question : DEVELOPMENT OF HOLY CITIES

(a) whether the Union Government proposes to allocate funds for the development of holy cities in the country including Maharashtra;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise;

(c) whether the Union Government has received any proposal from various State Government including Maharashtra in this regard; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the time by which the said proposal is likely to be cleared?

(a) & (b): A new Urban Development Mission is being considered for integrated development of cities including holy cities in the country including the cities of Maharashtra. The contours of the Mission have not been finalized.

(c) & (d): Does not arise in view of above.
