Question : Indian Institute of Skills (IISs)

(a) whether the Government proposes to set up Indian Institute of Skills (IISs) in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise including Rajasthan;
(c) the details of the funds allocated/sanctioned for the institutes;
(d) whether the Government has identified the locations for this in Rajasthan;
(e) if so, the details thereof, district-wise;
(f) whether the Government is planning to set up these institutes under PPP model; and
(g) if so, the details thereof and the time by which these are likely to be set up?

(a) to (g) Yes Sir,the Government of India has approved the proposal of setting up ofIndian Institute of Skills (IISs) at three locations in the country at Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Mumbai (Maharashtra) and Ahmedabad (Gujarat) on Not-for-profitPublic Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis.As of now, there is no proposal for setting up of IIS in Rajasthan.
