(a): The funds of NSDF are utilized on the activities undertaken under the following objectives:
I. To administer and apply the moneys of the Fund for promotion of sports in general and specific sports disciplines and individual sports persons in particular for achieving excellence at the National and International level;
II. To impart special training and coaching in relevant sports disciplines to sports persons, coaches and sports specialists;
III. To construct and maintain infrastructure for promotion of sports and games;
IV. To supply sports equipments to organizations and individuals for promotion of sports and games;
V. To identify problems and take up research and development studies for providing support to excellence in sports; and
VI. To promote international cooperation, in particular, exchanges which may promote the development of sports
VII. To provide low interest or interest free loans for projects and activities related to any of the aforesaid objects.
(b): the details of funds available with the NSDF presently and during the years from 2018 to 2022 are as under:

(c): Sportspersons / organizations etc. desires of seeking financial assistance / grants from the NSDF are required to apply in prescribed form along with detailed project report, time schedule for completion of the project and financial implications etc.
The Executive Committee of NSDF considers all the proposals after getting comments from the concerned authorities / organizations / agencies and take appropriate decisions. There is no specific time limit to accord approval or rejections for the same.
