Question : Security Around Delhi Airport

(a) whether recently, a trial court has pointed out/ observed that lack of adequate number of cops and absence of effective policing at the Delhi airport encourages touts and encourage illegal activities which in turn bring a bad name to the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto; and

(c) the steps taken/being taken by the Government to enhance security at various airports in the country including Indira Gandhi International airport, Delhi?

(a) & (b): The information is being collected and will be laid on the Table
of the House.

(c): Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the regulatory authority
for Civil Aviation Security in the country, issues instructions covering
various aspects of airport security and continuously audits and monitors
the airports to ensure their implementation.
