Question : DELHI MILK SCHEME



(a) whether the Standing Committee on Agriculture in its Thirty-Second Report on Demands for Grants (2002-2003) has recommended that Delhi Milk Scheme be liberated from the shackless of Government control;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the reaction of the Government thereto ?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE (SHRI HUKUMDEO NARAYAN YADAV)

(a): Yes, Sir.

(b): The Committee stated that it would be better to liberate the DMS from the shackles of Government control and find its own ground in view of the changed circumstances owing to liberalization, computerization, automation, sanitary awareness and downsizing.

(c): Steps have been initiated for corporatisation of DMS.
