Question : INTERNET FACILITY



(a) whether all the Departments/Ministries of the Central Government have been connected to internet and all the websites are completely secure from hackers;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the arrangements made on the websites to receive complaints and suggestions from the public;

(d) whether the entire information of the department are put/kept on websites and are updated and corrected;

(e) if so, whether the information available on the websites are also available in Hindi language;

(f) if so, the details thereof;

(g) if not, the steps taken by the Government to make available information in Hindi;

(h) whether the Government propose to provide E-mail facility to the Government officials;

(i) if so, the details thereof; and

(j) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) and (b): All the Central Government Departments have been provided Internet connectivity.

All the Central Government websites are hosted at one place. They are placed in a secure zone, which is protected using the available technologies.

(c): The Web Enabled Complaints Monitoring Systems is in place for most of the departments wherein citizens can send their grievances/suggestions on to the website which is then processed by the respective departments.


(d),(e),(f) and (g): The websites cater to the information needs of the citizen and these do not contain entire information of the department. Information is updated/corrected by concerned Ministries/Departments. As a part of a Minimum Agenda for e-Governance, all the Central Government Ministries or Departments are to provide Hindi version of website content. Department of Official Language has already issued suitable instructions in this regard.


(h), (i) and (j): E-mail facility is provided to all the Government officials as per the requirement.


More than 75000 E-mails have already been provided to the Government offices / officials across the country.
