Question : Online Education during Covid-19

(a) whether the Government is aware that majority of the Schools and Colleges in the Country faced a severe problem in delivering their education online during the COVID-19 pandemic due to unavailable of online content in the form e-books, teaching material and resources like standard video lectures;
(b) whether there is any plan to create and make available to teachers and students a comprehensive repository of free online study material and other teaching and learning resources; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) Online classes are being conducted at the schools by employing various digital tools in the form of DIKSHA portal (https://diksha.gov.in/), SWAYAM Portal (swayam.gov.in), SWAYAM Prabha, DD Channel, e-Pathshala (https://epathshala.nic.in/), NROER (National Repository of Open Educational Resources) portal (https://nroer.gov.in/welcome).The medium of TV, radio has been used for the students who do not have digital means.

In order to enable online education benefit to the children of every categoryandteachers,Learning Enhancement Guidelines have been issued.

(b) & (c) National Repository of Open Educational Resources (NROER) is developed by CIET, NCERT. NROER hosts large number educational resources in many subjects and in different Indian languages for Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary classes. Resources are available on NROER in different formats like Video, Image, Audio, Document and Interactive.
