Question : HINDRANCES IN IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL HIGHWAYS



(a) whether most of the National Highways passes through urban/rural settlements after every 10-15 km and get hindrances in their implementation;

(b) if so, the policy of the Government regarding rehabilitation of the affected people;

(c) whether the Government have any proposal to constitute task force to look into the matter; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. The National Highways pass through urban and rural settlements, but this is not a serious hindrance in their development and maintenance. Wherever land is acquired for the National Highways, the affected people are compensated at the prevailing market rate.

(c) No, Sir.

(d) Does not arise.
