Question : KILLING OF OWN COLLEAGUE BY BSF PERSONNELS



(a) whether there has been increase in incidences of attacks on senior officers of Para Military Forces by their subordinates;

(b) if so, the details therefor;

(c) the total number of incidents of attack/killing of their own colleagues/senior officers by the personnels of PMF during the last two years, force-wise, till date;

(d) whether any enquiry into each such incidents have been ordered; force-wise;

(e)if so, the outcome of such inquiries;

(f) the details of compensation paid to security personnels who died in such incidents; and

(g) the steps taken/to be taken by the Government to avoid such incidents in future?

(d): Yes, Madam.

(e): Appropriate departmental/legal action has been taken against the delinquent officials.

(f): As per the existing Central Govt. rules, the widows/next of kin (NOK) of Central Police Force (CPF) personnel who die while on duty are granted an ex-gratia compensation of Rs. 5 lakh, in addition to other service benefits like pension, GPF, Central Govt. Employees Group Insurance Scheme, Leave encashment, Death-cum Retirement Gratuity as adssmissible.

(g): To avoid recurrence of such incidents, various steps have been taken for the welfare of personnel of CPFs including strengthening of grievance redressal machinery, improvement in working conditions, grant of timely and regular leave, introduction of stress management courses etc.
