Question : NATIONAL HIGHWAYS EXPRESSWAYS IN GUJARAT

(a) whether the Union Government has received several proposals for the construction/development/ improvement/up-gradation/widening of National Highways/ Expressways in Gujarat;

(b) if so, the details thereof during each of the last three years and the current year;

(c) the details of such projects sanctioned/launched during the said period;

(d) the details of such projects on which such sanction is still pending with the Union Government alongwith the reasons therefore;

(e) the details of the funds allocated/sanctioned/utilized for various National Highway development projects in Gujarat during the said period; and

(f) the details of the projects completed and the steps taken for expeditious completion of the remaining projects?

(a) Yes, Sir.

(b) & (c) The details are placed at Annex-I.

(d) The estimates are sanctioned on the basis of availability of funds and inter-se-priority of works and the remaining estimates are returned to the State Government.

(e) The details of funds allocated and utilized are placed at Annex-I.

(f) Sixty one works have been completed and 18 works are in progress.
