(a) whether the Government have formulated a proposal on `Healthy Cities Programme` in the country with financial assistance from World Health Organisation;
(b) if so, whether the Government have received any assistance from the World Health Organisation; and

(c) Under the Healthy Cities Programme World Health Organisation has approved an amount of US $ 125,000 for the biennium 1998-99 in order to promote and integrate the concepts of environment health and healthy cities in municipalities and communities of Mumbai, Calcutta, Bangalore and Kottayam. The projects are at various stages of implementation by the implementing agencies. For the biennium 2000-2001, World
Health Organisation has allocated an amount of US $ 188,700 under this programme.
