Question : Funds Allocated for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

(a) whether it is a fact that a series of events has been planned under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to be Iaunched in the various States in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof including the total number of events and the funds allocated for the same State/UT-wise;

(c) whether it is proposed to extend the conduct, events to small towns and villages in the country in future and if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise and if not, the reasons therefor;

(d) the details of the measures taken for the popularisation of these events and to ensure maximum participation by the people of the country and to create awareness about the freedom struggle through these events; and

(e) the details of the efforts being made to increase involvement of communities and non-government players in these Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav events?

(a) Yes Sir.

(b) A total of 16400 events were held all over India under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations till 08.03.2022. No funds have been allocated to State/UTs for the events

(c) and (d) Yes Sir. To commemorate this momentous occasion, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated across the country including small towns and villages with participation from all Ministries, States, Union Territories and Government/Non Government organizations. The celebration takes place in the form of events which are organized on the principle of whole of government approach – Central, State/UTs and Government/Non Government bodies to ensure maximum ‘Janbhagidari’. During the celebrations special focus has been given to commemorate unsung heroes of freedom struggle. The involvement of children/youth is intensified through schools and colleges.

(e) There is active involvement of communities and non-government players in the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav events and efforts are continuously made to increase this involvement. Logo of AKAM is being used by ministries, state governments, banks, private entities, social organizations etc. which has given it wide publicity.
