Question : MoUs between India and Foreign Broadcasters

(a) whether the Government has given ex-post facto approval for the MoUs between India and foreign broadcasters in the field of radio and television, if so, the details thereof; and

(b) the details of Indian and foreign broadcasters selected under this MoU?

THE MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE; MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING AND MINISTER OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES AND PUBLIC ENTERPRISES (SHRI PRAKASH JAVADEKAR)

a) & (b): Yes Sir, 27 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed between Prasar Bharati and foreign broadcasters for cooperation in the field of radio and television. The MoUs signed by Prasar Bharati with foreign Broadcasters provide for the following:
a) Exchange of programmes in the areas of culture, education, archaeology, history, science, sports, news etc .
b) Cooperation in the fields of co-production, news gathering, content exchange, distribution of radio signal, training, exchange of technical knowhow, digitalization etc.



c) Mutual exchange of personnel with the aim of exchanging expertise
d) Signing of these MoUs paved the way for greater cooperation and exchange of rich heritage and culture between Prasar Bharati and the participating countries.
