(a) whether the Government propose to set up a committee of Non-Government Organisations to facilitate proper co- ordination and harmonious implementation of Government schemes;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the time by which it is likely to be set up; and
(c) the details of criteria to be followed to short-list the NGOs for the purpose?

(a) to (c): In March, 2000, the Planning Commission
has been declared as the nodal agency for co-ordinating
the interface between the Government and the Voluntary
Organisations. Further a Committee of Secretaries on
Voluntary Organisations/Non-Government Organisations has
also been set up in June, 2000 to co-ordinate and review
inter-Ministerial policy issues related to Voluntary
Organisations and Non-Government Organisations.
