Question : SCHEMES FOR MSME SECTOR



(a) whether major issues relating to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), which were highlighted in the 12th Five Year Plan, have been taken care of in the schemes /programmes for the development of MSME sector;

(b) if so, the details thereof including furniture and leather production along with the funds allocated therefor during the Plan;

(c) whether any mechanism has been put in place to monitor the implementation of the said schemes/programmes; and

(d) if so, the details thereof along with the extent to which new job opportunities are created/likely to be created therefrom?

(a): Yes, Madam.

(b): The details of major issues relating to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) including furniture and leather production along with the fund allocated during the 12th Five Year Plan are given at Annexure – I.

(c): Mechanism to monitor the implementation of executed schemes and programmes are usually carried out after the end of each five year plan and also interim adjustments are made as and when required to keep the developmental impetus in line.

(d): The job opportunities in leather & leather product and manufacturing of furniture sector in India is 4.32 lakh and 28.18 lakh respectively, which may increase along with other sectors at a rational expected rate of 8-10% per annum.
