Question : Fake Membership in Socities

(a) whether as per catering policy, Vendors Cooperative Societies have been allotted static catering and vending units at certain stations in Indian Railways;

(b) if so, the details of names, stations, date of registration as well as number of members in each of these Cooperative Societies;

(c) whether there are any modalities with the Government to check the genuineness of forged documents, fake membership etc. in these Societies; and

(d) if so, the details of such checks made by the authorities?

(a): Yes, Sir.

(b) The details of such Cooperative Societies are appended.

(c) and (d): The genuineness of documents of the applicants in support of their eligibility is checked by the Railway Administration at the time of bid. However, at any time, if the Railway finds that the licensee has given false information/details/forged documents for obtaining the license, Railway has the right to terminate the license and debar/black-list the licensee from participating further in allotment of catering units. No case of forged documents or fake membership has been reported by Railways.
