(a) whether the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has appointed more than 25000 agents as Development Officers since 1995;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the General Insurance Company (GIC) and all four subsidiaries has not appointed any Development Officer since 1995 till date and if so, the reasons therefor; and
(d) whether the Government is planning to appoint agents as Development Officers and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): As per Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the Corporation has inducted around 4086 agents as Development Officers till date.
(c) & (d): Development Officers are appointed/recruited as per the functional requirements of each Company. Oriental Insurance Company Limited has recruited 76 Development Officers since 1995. General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC), being a Re-insurance Company, does not appoint Development Officers.
