Question : ONE STOP CRISIS CENTRES



(a) whether the Government proposes to set up ` One Stop Crisis Centres` for women victims of sexual assault and rape in all the districts of the country and if so, the details thereof along with the salient features of the scheme/centre;

(b) whether the Government has provided adequate funds including Nirbhaya Fund for setting up of such centres in the country and if so, the details thereof along with the utilisation status of these funds so far; State-wise;

(c) whether the Government has made any evaluation of the training programmes being conducted by the States for educating/ sensitising the personnel dealing with such victims, if so, the details and the outcome thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(d) the other corrective steps taken/being taken by the Government in this direction?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO.456 FOR 08.08.2014 BY SHRI DUSHYANT CHAUTALA & SHRI BHARTRUHARI MAHTAB REGARDING ONE STOP CRISIS CENTRES.

(a)to (d): Yes Sir. The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), has proposed to establish an adequately equipped crisis and response Centre to assist and support women affected by violence, at 660 locations. The Centres are expected to facilitate medical aid and police assistance, provide legal counseling/court case management, psycho-social counseling and temporary shelter, if required. Adequate funds are proposed to be provided through the Nirbhaya Fund. Related and relevant training and other programmes of the States will be suitably incorporated.
