Question : Projects in NER under NAM

(a) the details of projects undertaken under the National AYUSH Mission in the country, State/UT-wise including North Eastern Region;

(b) the funds sanctioned, allocated and spent under these projects during the last five years, year-wise, State/UT-wise and district-wise;

(c) the reasons for less number of AYUSH Centres in North-Eastern Region;

(d) the total number of immunity boosting BalRaksha Kits supplied to all the states in the country, State/UT-wise; and

(e) whether the Government has received any complaints/suggestions in regard to effective implementation of the Scheme and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Central Government is implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) through States/UTs including North Eastern Region for development and promotion of AYUSH systems of medicine.Under NAM, there is provision of financial assistance for various activities including setting up of 50 bedded/30 bedded/10 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals, establishment of new AYUSH Colleges in the States where availability of AYUSH teaching institutions is required in Government Sector&setting up of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres in the country including North Eastern Region. The detailed status of funds sanctioned/allocated/released and spent under above activities during the last five years, year-wise, State/UT-wise including North Eastern Regionunder NAM is furnished at Annexure.However, under NAM, district wise grant-in-aid is not provided to States/UTs.

(c)Public Health being a State subject, the status ofAYUSH Centres in North-Eastern Regionis maintained by the respective State Governments. However, Ministry of AYUSH is supplementing the efforts of State/UT Governments through NAM by making financial assistance for following activities:
(i) AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres under Ayushman Bharat
(ii) Co-location of AYUSH facilities at Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals(DHs)
(iii) Upgradation of existing standalone Government AYUSH Hospitals
(iv) Upgradation of existing/setting up of new standalone Government/ Panchayat /Government aided AYUSH Dispensaries
(v) Setting up of 50 bedded/30 bedded/10 beddedintegrated AYUSH Hospitals
(vi) Supply of essential drugs to Government AYUSH Hospitals, Government Dispensaries and Government/Government aided Teaching Institutional AYUSH Hospitals
(vii) AYUSH Public Health Programmes
(viii) Upgradation of State Government Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Educational Institutions.
(ix) Establishment of new AYUSH Colleges in the States where availability of AYUSH teaching institutions is required in Government Sector.

(d) All India Institute of Ayurveda, an autonomous organization under Ministry of Ayush has procured 10000 BalRaksha Kits from Indian Medicines Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited (IMPCL) and these kits were distributed within Delhi NCR through different means such as OPD level, Institutional level, some Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)/ Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and through Medical Camps organized by the institute.Further, BalRaksha Kits have also been made available through Jan AushadhiKendras.

(e) Ministry of Ayushhas received various suggestions from States/UTs during the consultative process with them in the context of approval of NAM for continuation. The suggestions inter-alia includes addition of new activities of AYUSH Public Health Programmes, Strengthening of institutional mechanism and rigorous monitoring mechanism. The suggestion has been appropriately included while approving the continuation of NAM till 31.03.2026.
