Question : E TICKETS



(a) whether attention of the Government has been drawn to security threats posed by e-tickets at airprots;

(b) if so, the facts thereof;

(c) the numbder of cases of unauthorised entries with invalid e-tickets detected at airports across the country and the action taken thereon;

(d) whether the Government has evolved any mechanism as followed internationally, where all e-tickets are barcoded and validated at the airports entry point;

(e) if so, the details thereof; and

(f) the other measures the Government proposes to take to with security hazards arising out of unauthorised entry to airports through e-tickets?

(a), (b) & (c): No, Madam. However, 13 cases of misuse of E-Tickets have been detected at the entry gates of the airports in this year. All such cases were reported to Local Police for further legal action.

(d): No, Madam.

(e): Does not arise.

(f): The identification of the individuals are checked alongwith the E-ticket at the time of entry into the Terminal Building.
