MINISTER OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
(SMT. SMRITI ZUBIN IRANI)
(a) No, Madam. The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) have been set up with the aim of providing good quality modern education to the talented children predominantly from rural areas. The JNVs have been constantly giving excellent academic performance comparable to the best school systems in the country. This is evident from the academic performance of students of JNVs for the last five years as per details given below:
<pre>
Pass Percentage of JNVs
Year Class X Class XII
2011 99.52 96.86
2012 99.58 95.96
2013 99.73 96.14
2014 99.80 97.67
2015 99.72 96.91
</pre>
(b) to (d) The apex body for monitoring the performance of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS). For effective management of monitoring, the Samiti is supported in its functions by different Committees viz., the Executive Committee, the Finance Committee and the Academic Advisory Committee.

Review of progress is a dynamic process and the recommendations of the above Committees are kept in view for monitoring of performance of the JNVs.
