(a) whether the 69th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Session was held recently and if so, the details in this regard along with the participation of India in this Session;
(b) whether any Indian member has been nominated by the UN in its Committees and if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the role to be played by these members in the deliberations held at UN?

(a) The 69th Session of the UN General Assembly commenced on September 16, 2014 and will continue till September 2015. The Indian delegation, led by Hon`ble Prime Minister, participated in the General Debate held from 24-30 September 2014. PM delivered his address to the UNGA on 27 September 2014.
(b) & (c) Several Indians are serving on various Committees/Sub-Committees of the UN. As part of their functions, they assist the Chair in steering discussions on the agenda of that Committee/Sub-Committee.
