Question : Functioning of NCRPB

Will the Minister of URBAN DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) whether shortage of staff has adversely affected the functioning of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB);

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the action taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a)&(b): Regional Plan 2021 for the National Capital Region has recommended the strengthening of technical staff as well as support staff in finance and administration wings in view of the increasingly difficult task of coordination and monitoring by National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB). Further NCRPB has informed that the Report of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) for the year 2014-15 states the need for sufficient manpower for effective control over financial matters and maintenance of records/ subsidiary registers, etc.

(c): NCRPB has sent a proposal for creation of additional posts, which is under consideration.
