Question : LNG TERMINAL AT COCHIN



(a) the present position of proposed LNG Terminal at Cochin being set up by Petronet;

(b) whether there are any proposal to transport LNG from Cochin to Mangalore;

(c) if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether there are any move to ignore supply of LNG to Kayamkuklam Terminal Power Station; and

(e) if so, the reasons therefor?

(a): All pre-project activities of Cochin LNG Terminal project have been completed.

(b)&(c): With the coming up of Cochin LNG Terminal, GAIL has considered setting up of gas transmission network based on the demand of various consumers in the States of Kerala and Karnataka. GAIL is in the process of finalizing the Gas Transmission Network from Kochi Terminal to Mangalore/Bangalore and to Kayamkulam depending on tie up with consumers in the region.
