Question : CRIME AGAINST WOMEN POLICE OFFICERS



(a) whether incidents of crime against women police officials/ officers while on duty have been reported in the country;

(b) if so, the total number of such cases registered, guilty arrested and the action taken against them along with the cases solved/ unsolved and the steps taken to solve all the cases during each of the lastthree years and the current year, State and crime-wise including molestation, eve teasing and sexual assault; and

(c) the safety precautions put in place to protect women personnel while on duty along with the other measures taken by the Government to stop such cases in future?

(a) to (c): The Ministry of Home Affairs do not have data on crime against women police officers while on duty.

As per Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India, ‘Police’ is a State subject hence it is primarily the responsibility of States to evaluate on these matters. The Central Government has no role in this regard.
