(a) whether a number of persons charged with terrorist and anti-National
activities are awaiting trial in the country including in the State of Jammu and Kashmir;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise alongwith the number of persons convicted during the
last three years, State-wise; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to speed up the trial in the said cases?

(a) to (c): As a part of the ongoing counter terrorism/counter insurgency operations, a
number of persons arrested on charges of terrorism/anti-national activities are subjected to
the required judicial process which includes registration, investigation and prosecution before
appropriate judicial courts.However, the figures in this regard are not Centrally maintained.
