Question : SPECIAL FINANCIAL PACKAGE TO NEW STATES



(a) Whether any special financial package has been provided to newly formed States like Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand for urban development work;

(b) if so, the details of the said package, State-wise; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor ?

(a) & (b) : The requisite details are as follows:- (l)Under, Urban Infrastructure & Governance (UIG) sub mission of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), projects have been sanctioned for the Mission cities of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand for urban infrastructure development during the Mission period i.e. 2005 to 2012. Details of Projects sanctioned with 7 years allocation for the States and approved cost with Additional Central Assistance (ACA) commitment and funds released for utilization to the said States are given as under:

(II) Under, Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns (UIDSSMT), one of the sub-components of JNNURM, projects have been sanctioned for the Mission cities of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand for urban infrastructure development during the Mission period i.e. 2005 to 2012. Details of Projects sanctioned with 7 years allocation for the States and approved cost with ACA commitment and funds released for utilization to the said States are placed below:
