(a) whether the Handioom Export Promotion Council, Chennai, with the approval of
Regional Director, Company Law Board, Chennai has amended its Articles of
Association which are in gross violation of the Companies Act, 1956;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the action taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c) The Articles of Association of the Handloom Export Promotion Council, Chennai,
a Government of India organisation has been amended following the due procedure of law.
The approval of Regional Director, Chennai, Department of Company Affairs is subject to
the condition the amended articles will take effect from the date a special resolution
is passed by the said orgnisation. The necessary amendments have been approved by the
Council in its Extra-ordinary General Meeting held on 27.11.20G.
