(a) whether the Government has finalised any proposal to procure millet/ coarse grains
directly from the farmers in various States;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has directed the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to start
procurement of coarse grains;
(d) if so, the details thereof and progress made therein; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government to make the FCI`s procurement policy more transparent?

(a),(b) & (c): As per the existing policy procurement of coarsegrains under Minimum
Support Price (MSP) operation is undertaken by the State Governments and their Agencies on
behalf of Government of India. Food Corporation of India (FCI) is not directly undertaking
procurement of coarsegrains.
