(a) & (b):Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is administered by Union Ministry of Rural Development wherein, forthe first time, the leadership, capacity, commitment and energy of the Members of Parliament are being leveraged directly for development at the Gram Panchayat level. The goal of Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) is to translate the comprehensive and organic vision of Mahatma Gandhi on village development
into reality, keeping in view the present context. These “Adarsh Grams”serve as “nucleus of health, cleanliness, greenery and cordiality” within the village community and, becoming schools of local development and governance, inspiring neighboring Gram Panchayats.
(c) to (f): The villages with population of more than five hundred and 50% tribal population is not under the purview of SAGY scheme. For this, Ministry of Tribal Affairs has introduced a scheme ‘Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojna (PMAAGY)’ during 2021-22 with the aim of transforming the 36428 such villages into model village (Adarsh Gram) in a phased manner by mitigating gaps in various sectors of development. The State-wise list of the villages is at Annexure -1. The details of the villages in various districts of the States of Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh to be taken up under PMAAGY is at Annexure – 2.
