Question : CGHS Wellness Centre in East Kidwai Nagar Development Project in Delhi

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has taken note of the fact that the residents of the East Kidwai Nagar which is one of the Delhi’s flagship development projects are devoid of facilities of CGHS wellness centre;

(b) if so, the corrective steps taken/being taken in this regard and the progress made therein; and

(c) the time by which CGHS wellness centre is proposed to be set up and likely to be made functional in the locality housing approximately 4,608 dwelling units?

(a) to (c): Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has intimated that as on 27.01.2020, a total number of 2758 residential quarters out of the total number of 4,608 dwelling units have been allotted under the East Kidwai Nagar Redevelopment Project.

The National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) has agreed to provide accommodation for a Wellness Centre at Market Complex of East Kidwai Nagar. Minor modifications of the premises are required to make it suitable for running/housing a CGHS Wellness Centre. Once the same is completed, the Wellness Centre will start functioning from the new premises. At present, the CGHS beneficiaries can avail CGHS facilities from the nearby CGHS Wellness centres at Laxmibai Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, Andrews Ganj, Hauz Khas etc.
