Question : PROLIFERATION OF FOREIGN INSTITUTIONS

(a) whether attention of the Government has been drawn to the proliferation of foreign institutions which have set Institutions in education field in India without any recognition from Indian authorities;

(b) if so, whether the Government propose to regulate such high flow of these institutions;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): Yes, Sir.

(b) to (d): The University Grants Commission (UGC) has framed draft Regulations for the entry into and operation of foreign universities/ educational institutions in India. The draft Regulations are under consideration of the Government.
