(d) if so, the details thereof and the measures being taken by the Government in this regard?

Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
[GEN. (DR) V. K. SINGH (RETD)]

(a) to (d) The annual Plenary meeting of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) held in Seoul (June 23-24, 2016) discussed India’s membership. It is understood that consultations on the issue of membership are ongoing within the NSG. The Government continues to engage with all NSG members for an early decision on India’s application.

Since India is not a member of the NSG, it is not privy to the Group’s internal discussions including on the status of other applicants. India’s membership of the NSG is not linked to the NSG membership of any other country.
