Question : EXPENDITURE ON LANDLINE FACILITY

(a) whether the expenditure on land line facility provided by the public sector telephone companies is very less in comparison to WLL telephone facility;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government propose to provided WLL telephone to all its landline subscribers in future keeping in view the in creasing expenditure on landline telephones;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(e) Huge infrastucture created over the years can not be written off. However, the WLL connections are provided whenever provision of landlines is not feasible/economical.
