(a): Yes, Sir.
(b): Since waste management is a State subject, it is the
responsibility of the State Governments and Urban Local Bodies
to take necessary steps to evolve suitable action plan in this
regard. The Union Government assists the State Governments
through policy formulation, technical guidance, holding of
seminars, workshops, training facilities, supply of relevant
rules, reports/manual and Central assistance under waste to
energy projects.
