(a) No, Sir. The Pradhan Mantri Bharat Jodo Pariyojna was only under proposal stage and was not approved by the Government.

(b) Does not arise.

(c) and (d) National Highways Development Project is a step towards modernization of National Highways. The project includes 4/6 laning of National Highways with enhanced safety features such as Road Over Bridges in place of Railways Level Crossings, Grade Separators, Road Signages, Road Markings, Crash Barriers etc. The ongoing National Highways Development Project (NHDP Phase I & Phase II) covers about 14,000 km of National Highways. To accelerate the ongoing modernization of roads, it is proposed to undertake 4/6 laning of about 10,000 km of National Highways with public private partnership under NHDP Phase IIIA (4,000 km) and NHDP Phase IIIB (6,000 km).
