(a) the action taken by the Government to implement Fifth Pay Commission for providing revised pay and allowances to the veterinary doctors at par with medical doctors and dental surgeons in Government Hospitals; and
(b) the steps taken by the Government to provide equal promotion opportunities to the veterinary doctors at par to the medical doctors?

(a) & (b) : As per the recommendation of Vth Central Pay Commission, the respective veterinary doctors holding the posts on regular basis in the Department have been granted the pay scale of Rs.8000-13,500 at par with medical doctors in Government of India. All Veterinary Doctors in the Department have also been granted NPA @ 25% of the basic pay. The veterinarians working in this Department get promotions in their normal hierarchy.
