(a) The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy & Department of Fisheries is not in receipt of any report on loss of animals as well as fisheries ponds in the districts of North Bihar during the recent heavy floods.
(b) &(c) The Government is implementing various schemes to supplement the efforts of States/UTs through financial assistance for promotion of animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries sectors across the country including Bihar such as:-
I. Rashtriya Gokul Mission: For development and conservation of indigenous bovine breeds
II. National Programme for Dairy Development: Facilitate procurement, processing and marketing of milk by Cooperative milk institutions
III. Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund: Creation /modernization /expansion of dairy processing and manufacturing infrastructure
IV. Supporting Dairy Cooperatives and Farmer Producer Organizations engaged in dairy activities: To assist the Dairy Cooperatives and Farmer Producer organisations by providing soft loan for working capital and to provide stable market access to the dairy farmers
V. National Livestock Mission: Sustainable growth and development of livestock sector particularly sheep/goat/pig and poultry & increasing availability of feed and fodder
VI. Livestock Health and Disease Control: Control and containment of livestock diseases
VII. National Animal Disease Control Programme: For control of Foot & Mouth Disease and Brucellosis
VIII. Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund: For promoting investment through infrastructure development in dairy processing, meat processing and Animal feed plant
IX. Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY): Development of Fisheries sector and welfare of Fishermen.
