(a) and (b) No Sir, there is no short term course in Allopathic system of medicine for the practitioners of Ayush system of medicine.
However, there are similar provisions in the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020 and National Commission for Homoeopathy Act, 2020 to conduct joint sittings amongst the commissions to enhance the interface between modern system of medicine, Indian systems of medicine and homoeopathy. Accordingly, joint sitting may, by an affirmative vote of all members present and voting, decide on approving specific educational and medical modules or programme that could be introduced in the under-graduate and post-graduate courses across medical systems, and promote medical pluralism.
(c) and (d), Yes, Sir, Ministry of Ayush is operationalizing 12,500 Ayush Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) as a component of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM) through State/UT Governments in a phased manner by the year 2023-24. The main objectives of the establishment of AYUSH Health & Wellness Centers is to establish a holistic wellness model based on AYUSH principles and practices focusing on preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative healthcare by establishing integration with existing healthcare system. As per the proposal received from the State/UT Governments in their State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) of NAM, the Ministry of Ayush has approved for up-gradation of 7513 Health facilities into Ayush HWCs in 34 States/UTs and Central Share of 551.73 Crore has been released to these State/UT Governments. Out of this, 3138 Ayush HWCs have been made functional under the progressive category till date.
(e ) and (f) , No Sir, Public Health being a State subject, starting up of holistic healthcare center/unit in all the hospitals including the Ayush hospitals across the country comes under the purview of respective State/UT Government. However, under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), financial assistance is being provided for setting up of up to 50 /30 /10 bedded integrated AYUSH Hospitals for providing treatment through different systems of AYUSH Medicines. The State/UT Governments may avail the financial assistance by submitting the suitable proposals through SAAP as per the provision of NAM guidelines.
