Question : Four Laning of NHs

(a) the details of budget allocated for converting two lane NHs into four lane during the financial years 2010-11 and 2011-12;

(b) the length of National Highways to be made four lane along with the names of places in various States and UTs of the country where these projects were sanctioned during that period;

(c) the details of four lane highways in regard to which the work was completed on time and those stopped along with the reasons therefor, project-wise; and

(d) whether any fatal accidents took place on those highways due to natural or technical reasons and if so, the details thereof ?

(a) to (c) The details of National Highways converted to 4 lane during 2010-11 and 2011-12 in various places of the country along with the funds allocation are annexed.

(d) As such, fatal accidents have not been reported. However, some minor accidents have taken place due to fault of drivers.
