(a) whether the Government has received proposals for irrigation projects from various States including Maharashtra for approval;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the details of projects sanctioned so far along with the details of the pending projects, State-wise; and
(d) the steps proposed to be taken for early clearance of the pending projects?

(a) to (c) The Government have received proposals for environmental clearance for irrigation projects from various states including Maharashtra. During the last 3 years and including current year, twelve (12) irrigation projects have been accorded environment clearance (EC). A list of these 12 projects is annexed. No irrigation project is pending for approval for environment clearance.
(d) Steps and procedures as stipulated in Environment Impact Assessment Notification 2006 are followed by the Government while considering the proposals for environment clearance.
