Question : Loss Making CPSEs

(a) the details of loss making Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) during the last three years along with the investment made so far and their networth;

(b) whether the NITI Ayog has urged the Government to absorb the loss making CPSEs by the profitable ones so as to leverage assets and generate resources for fresh investment;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto;

(d) whether the Government has identified such CPSEs ; and

(e) if so, the details and if not, the time by which it is likely to be completed?

(a) : As per information available in Public Enterprises Survey 2014-15, which was laid in the Parliament on 26.02.2016, 78, 70 and 77 Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) incurred losses during the last three years i.e. 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 respectively. The enterprise wise details of losses during the last 3 years, investment (in terms of Equity + Long term Loans) and networth of these loss making CPSEs as on 31.3.2015 are given in Annex I.

(b) to (e) An analysis of all the sick and loss making Central Public Sector Enterprises is presently underway in NITI Ayog in consultation with the concerned Ministries / Departments.
